COFFEE CLUB SUPPORT GROUP

This is one of our more laid back support groups. This group is lead by Director, Brenda Baum. Members are free to share with each other the experiences that they have had or struggles and challenges that they’ve faced, or simply listen. This is an open conversation group, without a lot of structure, more like hanging out at the kitchen table chatting.

It’s always nice to know you’ve helped someone who is going through a hard time, simply by sharing your story or advice with them. It’s also always rewarding to share your success stories. Our members are encouraged by the successes of one another and proud of their own achievements. Everything you say is CONFIDENTIAL and remains within the support group.

This program is Tuesdays, from 11:00am – 12:00pm

This is one of our most popular programs. As an ESN member, you are invited to join us twice per month on an outing to a local restaurant for lunch on us! After lunch we will stop at a local business that the members choose and do a little shopping (for those members who bring their own money) or browsing for about a half an hour.

Members love the opportunity to get out and enjoy a nice lunch and good time with one another. You are welcome to drive to the restaurant if you have your own vehicle or you can reserve your seat on the ESN van (seating is limited on the van so call early in the week). The transportation to and from the restaurant is free for members. Members meet at ESN in the morning, and return in the early afternoon.

Whole Health Action Management (WHAM)
A workshop for people who experience mental health and/or addiction challenges

This is a 10-week workshop instructed by a WHAM facilitator, that focuses on 2 major components. The first component uses a person-centered planning process in 10 health and resiliency factors to help members create a concise whole health goal to begin the self-management process. Members also learn skills to enhance self-management, including WHAM peer support groups and weekly action plans to create new health habits. The second component focuses on developing mind-body resiliency to promote self-management skills. The training teaches the Relaxation Response as an essential resiliency self-management skill with research demonstrating that it is as predictable as medication in immediately reversing the stress-induced fight-or flight response. Participants will agree to work on a whole health and resiliency goal, engage in peer support to reach their whole health and resiliency goal, and participate in a WHAM peer support group that meets weekly for at least 8 weeks.

This is a free, closed workshop for those who register.

This workshop is weekly for 10 weeks, followed by 8 weeks of support group.
